5th ANNUAL HOBART VARMINT AND EGG MATCH THE TUSCO RIFLE CLUB IS HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THE 5TH ANNUAL HOBART VARMINT AND EGG MATCH.

5TH ANNUAL HOBART VARMINT & EGG MATCH RULES PLEASE REMEMBER AS YOU READ THE RULES FOR THIS MATCH THAT IS THE INTENTION OF THE CLUB TO HAVE A VARMINT MATCH, NOT A BENCHREST MATCH. THE RULES FOR THIS MATCH REFLECT THE INTENTION OF THE CLUB. RIFLE CLASSES: FACTORY: "OUT OF THE BOX" varmint rifle. Must be un-altered factory production receiver, stock and chamber. Allowed deviations are: Barrel may be re-crowned, receiver may be bedded, any trigger that has a functioning safety. No muzzle brakes will be allowed. THE MATCH DIRECTOR WILL DETERMINE THE CLASS FOR ANY QUESTIONABLE RIFLES. Caliber: Must be 30 caliber (.308) or less. No BR or PPC calibers. No flat bottom benchrest stocks are allowed. Scopes are limited to no more than 32X. Optical boosters are not allowed on any scopes. Weight limit: 13.5 pounds. NO SHARING OF GUNS Note: The current Savage LRPV RT/Lf guns are allowed in the Factory Class. However, the "F-Class" guns with the flat bottom forends are not (6BR, 6.5-284 etc). Custom: No "Full Blown" benchrest with flat bottom forearms allowed. Any trigger with functioning safety allowed, any stock, barrel, receiver, scope. Muzzle brakes will be allowed, but will shoot on end relays. Caliber: Must be 30 caliber (.308) or less. No flat bottom benchrest stocks are allowed. Weight limit: 15 pounds. NO SHARING OF GUNS ALL GUNS WILL BE INSPECTED. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST SIGN A LIABILITY RELEASE PRIOR TO START OF MATCH. Each shooter will be allowed SEVEN sand bags. Factory guns many not have anything attached to the stock to fit in rests or that may be adjusted to function as rest i.e. rear mono-pods. A shooter may use a Harris Type Bi-pod or a "rabbit ear" rear bag. No spotting scopes or coaching of shooters. An adult will be allowed on the line with a junior shooter for safety purposes. Equipment questions will answered by the Match Director. Open areas may be used for e-z ups and portable tables. MATCH FORMAT: We will shoot at 200, 300 and 400 yards. All matches will start at 9:00 A.M. All rifles must be registered and tagged prior to firing. The relays will fire at 200, 300 and 400 yard targets in that order. The shot at the egg will be taken last. You may only take the required ammo to the bench with you. You will be allowed one fouler round. NO SIGHTER SHOTS AT THIS MATCH. TOTAL TIME WILL BE 21 MINUTES. PLEASE be on time!! We will fill many relays and start on time. You may only shoot one rifle in each class. TIES AND CROSSFIRE'S: The method of breaking a tie will be determined by the Match Director. Cross Fires will be attempted to be scored, if unable to determine, lowest five shots will be scored. Shooter that cross fires target will get no credit for those shots. We will track whose crossfire's on what target. Large numbers are displayed at the target frames. Line officers will instruct shooters to locate their targets prior to shooting. Match Director will make the final decision on crossfire's. Challenges to the scoring may be made immediately upon receiving the target. Scorer's decisions are final and binding. SAFETY: ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WILL BE PERMITTED ON CLUB PROPERTY. EYE AND EAR PROTECTION IS MANDATORY. BOLTS SHALL BE REMOVED FROM RIFLES AT ALL TIMES. THE RANGE OFFICERS WILL GIVE THE COMMAND TO INSTALL YOUR BOLT, IF YOU CANNOT REMOVE YOUR BOLT, YOU MUST HAVE A SAFETY FLAG IN YOUR CHAMBER. ANY SEMI-AUTO RIFLES MUST HAVE A BRASS CATCHER/DEFLECTOR. |
